The 32" Atlantis Gong is dark and mysterious. Each instance of this gong will have different coloration with random, varying harmonics and overtones.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 27 lbs

The Atlantis Chau Gong mixes the classic look and feel of the traditional Chau gong with mystique and depth of our exclusive Atlantis gong.

The science of metallurgy and the art of the gongmaker combine to create a gong with differing coloration and varying pockets of harmonics throughout the gong. The classic lathing pattern brings balance and control to the overall sound, making this gong something special that's a must-have for sound alchemists, therapists, healers and musicians.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 27 lbs

The Atlantis Wind Gong mixes the classic look and feel of the traditional Wind gong with mystique and depth of our exclusive Atlantis gong.

The science of metallurgy and the art of the gongmaker combine to create a gong with differing coloration and varying pockets of harmonics throughout the gong. The unlathed exterior maintains a deeper tone with great sustain that is slower to build to a crash than a traditional Wind gong.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 10 lbs

The Chau Gong is iconic in appearance. It is what many people see in their mind’s eye when they think of a Chinese Gong. The bull’s-eye design is created by the metal lathing between the rim of the gong and the center. The lathing creates an overall balanced sound between the clear fundamental tone when tapped and a balanced crash when played heavier.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 25 lbs

The Chocolate Drop Gong is similar to the Chau Gong. In fact, it is basically a Chau Gong with the outer dark ring lathed off. This makes the Chocolate Drop Gong not only look brighter than the Chau Gong, it can make it sound brighter too.

The 32" Chocolate Drop Gong has thick deep tones. It is mystical and complex with an extra bit of splash. It is a rich, dark chocolate with a bright, joyful finish.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 25 lbs

Dark Star Gongs are designed to bring beautiful tones into your life. The Dark Star line resemble our Mother Tesla Gongs, but with a more musical bounce to their tones - yet still able to maintain a moodier sentiment. The tones will bring out your thoughts for gentle examination, and help you grow.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 27 lbs

Dark Wind Gongs are similar to the traditional Wind Gongs, but with an unlathed outer edge. The unlathed part controls the crash, creating less splash than a wind gong and preventing the gong from opening up sound-wise like a fully lathed gong.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 22.5 lbs

Deep Breath Gongs are a breath of fresh air. These gongs are thinner, light-hearted, and fun. The dark unlathed center provides great sustain while holding the crash in.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 22.5 lbs

Deep Breath Chau Gongs are similar to the Deep Breath Gongs that we have all come to love, but with a rim! The presence of the rim focuses the sound and combined with the dark unlathed center, provides great sustain while holding the crash in.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 25 lbs

With more unlathed bands than a classic Chau, Eventual Horizon Gongs have a clear, bell-like tone, with a complex, loud crash.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 27 lbs

Lunar Flare Gongs have a rim that focuses the lighter tones that emanate from the concentric lathed rings. They have a deep sound, though not as sharp as its sister, the Solar Flare Gong. The rim focuses the sound which lingers pleasantly. There's a lightness, like the light from the moon that pierces the thick of night. Deep sound emanates and expands and transforms dark to light.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 25 lbs

The 32" Mother Tesla Gong is very dark and fundamental-tone focused. This gong is completely unlathed with dark, mid-range harmonics and overtones. It doesn’t crash like a Wind Gong, or even a Chau.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 27 lbs

The Solar Flare Gong is a less traditional Chinese Gong than some of the other styles. It’s a more recent design created by Chinese gong makers and is available to all gong sellers, so we felt compelled to put it in the Traditional section. It is basically a Wind Gong, but with concentric bands of lathed and unlathed circles. The unlathed parts control the crash and splash, less than a Wind Gong. The rings concentrate the tones and it does not open up sound-wise like a fully lathed gong.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 22.5 lbs

Subatomic Gongs are to our Chau Gong as the black keys on a piano are to the white. The Subatomic creates a more mystical tone when struck with a complex mixture of harmonics and overtones. Often, striking it in the different concentric rings will give you a slightly different tone each time, adding to the mystique of these gongs.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 25 lbs

The 32" Temple Wind Gong brings Uranian tones of insight and epiphany, mixed with calm meditative sounds of devotion and repose. The Temple Wind helps to achieve both religious ecstasy and spiritual wisdom. It soothes and centers, it grounds you and then lifts you up.

It is made in the classic Wind Gong style, lathed, with no rim coming back from the face. The lack of the rim helps to open the sound, allowing the gong to be built to a complex crash. To allow for the engraved design of the outer edge, the outer ring of the gong is left unlathed, similar to our Dark Star Gongs. This unlathed portion helps to contain some of the crash, bringing some focus and clarity to the overall sound and adding a level of control.

The Chinese Wind Gong is fully lathed, leaving a bright, shiny finish. It doesn't have a rim; it is flat on the edge. This design gives the Wind Gong its splashy celebratory tone when struck with a quick fast attack. When tapped gently with a hard mallet, you will get a rich fundamental note that builds quickly to a crash with just a little bit of added power.

Approximate Weight of Gong: 28 lbs

I was pleased to see the new complete translation of Picatrix by Dan Attrell and David Porreca released in the Magic in History Series of Penn State Press. Picatrix is central to European astrological magic that it deserves an academic treatment. In addition, the willingness of Penn State Press to release a complete translation of Picatrix shows how things have changed in the past decade and the yeoman work done by mages such as Austin Coppock, Alexander Cummins and Cliff Low to delve deeply into astrological magic. As the translators point out at page 2 this version of Picatrix is, "specifically intended for students and scholars of the history of science and magic" In addition to the complete text of the Latin Picatrix in English translation the translators provide useful historical accounts of the pre-history of Picatrix and of the Latin text, Picatrix's exposition of the path of the sage, the use of the terminology nigromancia for astrological magic and the cosmology of Picatrix. Most interesting is a statistical breakdown of the types of magic in Picatrix. Finally, the translators elucidate their view of the importance of psychoactive drugs in ritual, though the translators insist at page 28 that they do not, "wish to suggest that all magic in the Picatrix can be explained away as drug addled delusion…" Coming as it does from an academic perspective, focused on history and social science the Attrell and Porreca translation provides a valuable orientation and background for the contemporary practitioner of astrological magic. No single translation can do justice to a work as complex as Picatrix and anyone who is serious about astrological magic or interested in Picatrix should certainly get a copy of the Attrell and Porreca translation as well as the Greer and Warnock Picatrix and the forthcoming Arabic Picatrix translation.

Great and important translation
Format: Hardcover
I've seen a few interviews with the author and now having the book, I can confirm that this is both an important and comprehensive effort at translating the original text into English, revising previous efforts and taking much more of the cultural context into account. If you wish to understand this important text's place in the history of Western esoteric writing, then I highly recommend this translation!
