The elastic at the sides are its biggest flex. There’s a layer of rubber between the elastic and the foot that’s split down the middle so the elastic can fully stretch when you’re getting in and out, but you’re still totally protected from splashes during wear. It’s not a deal breaker and it doesn’t impact the comfort, it might even make them more comfortable, but they look a bit large on my foot. And if you have a narrow foot, you might be swimming in these.
