"Commit a Crime", percussion kicks in; pulses and beats issue from various instruments and objects of everyday life; cardboard, cans and bottles echo in the tape machine. Guitar riffs roar, moan and slide, saturating the old tweed amplifier's small speaker. Singing, always soulful, swings between highs and lows, changing moods and modes, to the backbeat of an ever pounding double bass and the raw strums of acoustic guitar. Recorded in simple live takes with a handful of microphones, Automatic City stay true to the founding fathers, to the roots of blues, the raw energy of a stripped down spontaneous sound, occasionally whisking them away on further musical explorations. An eclecticism which emerges on "God Moves On The Water" bringing in sounds of Theremin, sitar, berimbau and melodica. There once were giants, by the names of Willie Dixon, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters and Blind Willie Johnson. They sang stories about lost and found loves, all-night balls, cunning escapes and fateful encounters, churches and boozers, humanity sailing forth on a doomed ship. "People had to run and pray" though sometimes whiskey and women wouldn't let the old boys do so, but all the folks surely want them to play. All night long! Really Nice Shelves BUT....

I do like these shelves, they look great for cheaper low end particle board made to look like wood. However I took off stars because they made installation unnecessarily hard. I'll explain....
If you look in my picture the mounting bracket has plenty of options/slots to use.
AND in the instructions they clearly show you how to find studs to properly mount the brackets. Meaning the manufacturer know stud distance. They even show in the instructions that studs are clesrly 16" apart!
Now get this, the mounting brackets are plenty long enough (roughly 22" without measuring) to mount on two studs 16" apart so the shelves are mounted in wood which is stronger and superior mounting instead of drywall.
HOWEVER, THE SLOTTED HOLES ON THE MOUNTING BRACKET ARE NOT 16" APART. None of them. There's tons of slotted holes to use on the bracket and zero of them are 16" apart.
Now if I want to mount screws jn 2 studs I have to drill in the mounting bracket to make a new hole. Taking up extra time, messing with the integrity of the mounting steel.
I don't understand. It's almost like they did this on purpose.
What should have been a 10-15 minute install turned into getting proper drill bits, drilling metal, and taking 45-50 minutes to do it properly.
It just put a sour taste in my mouth and that is my reasoning for the 3 of 5 starts. I would make it 3.5 stars if it was an option. Otherwise the shelves look pretty decent for low end shelving.
I recommend them only if you're handy with a drill and tape measure. If you can handle drilling the mount bracket to go into a stud, go ahead and grab these.

Lengthy Shelves

I love these shelves! I specifically wanted shelves that were very long and that would, when put together, span the length of my room. These fit the bill!
Quality: I was very worried about finding something that would hold up a good amount of weight, knowing I wanted to books on these shelves above my head! And I also wanted something with a nice texture that would be easily whipped down for dust. Both these points were covered.
I have hade these shelves for several months now and they have successfully held ip a decent bit of weight, is a true black cooler with wood grain detail, and has not faded in color with dusted and whipped down to be cleaned.
These are great quality and with the price!

Great shelf for price!

Great shelf for price. VERY easy to install. We put one side of screws of metal bracket in studs to make it sturdy & stable. This was KEY! Follow simple drawing dictions and you can’t go wrong! Was Leary about some bad reviews but we had no issues. Came quickly with no flaws. Looks great and is very light, but is stable when put into bracket correctly. Size is beautiful with the thickness & depth of upscale shelf. If you want a nice shelf that doesn’t break the bank- get it. This one worked well for us!
